The
Forensic Nurses' Society of Canada (FNSC) is a uniquely Canadian
organization for forensic nurses to communicate and bridge the distances
between us. We were approved as an emerging special interest group
of the Canadian Nurses Association in July 2007. The
goal of the FNSC is to provide a network for forensic nurses, and
a forum to discuss evidence based practice in forensic areas. Interested
authors are invited to submit reviews of recent research or articles,
to share their original research or write opinion papers on topics
relevant to forensic nursing practice.
Full
membership is open to any Canadian registered nurse (RN), but
non-RNs, RN's
from other countries and other forensic professionals may join
as
associate members. Further membership information and the application
form are found under the tab "Membership & Discussion"
above.
Although
our focus is Canadian forensic nurses we also welcome nurses
from other backgrounds and countries, including student nurses.
We also welcome other professionals as affiliate members, including
paramedics, physicians, police, social workers, scientists, and
legal professionals. Executive
Our first elections were held in fall 2009
and Spring 2010 - please welcome our expanded Board and newly elected
members.
