Evidence / General

In this site we include articles and research reviews related to more general forensic issues such as evidence preservation, collection or analysis or witness testimony. As the articles accumulate we will begin indexing and archiving, with a search feature.

Carter-Snell, C. & Soltys, K. (2005). Forensic ultraviolet lights in clinical practice: Evidence for the evidence. The Canadian Journal of Police & Security Services, 3(2), 79-85.

In this article, we reviewed the research on different types of lights and their sensitivity/specificity to various secretions. The difference between an ultraviolet light and an alternate light source were reviewed. The results of a pilot study are then presented in which we compared the ability to see different secretions on skin rather than fabric.
